Welcome to Don Bosco Technical Institute, Odumase

Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) is a Catholic, government-assisted technical and vocational institution run by the Congregation of Salesians of Don Bosco, located about one kilometre before Odumase town in Sunyani West, Bono Region. Founded in 1996 as a private institution, DBTI was absorbed into Ghana Education Service’s public stream in 2010, and today stands among the leading technical institutes in the country — offering thirteen (13) technical and vocational programmes across engineering, construction, ICT, creative arts, hospitality, and business.

DBTI’s education is built on the Preventive System of Reason, Religion, and Loving-Kindness — the pedagogy handed down by St. John Bosco himself — through which students develop discipline, respect, and responsibility alongside technical mastery. As the Institute puts it: “Most TVET schools teach you a trade. At DBTI we form the whole person.”

With over 35 years of reputation-building, modern workshops equipped through the Ghana–Austria TVET VACE project, and a dedicated Don Bosco Job Service Office linking graduates to employers, DBTI has become known nationally for combining skills, character, and faith. In the 2026 Ghana TVET Excellence Awards, the Institute was named 2nd Runner-Up for Best TVET School in Ghana, and it is ranked third nationally in the CTVET Certificate II examinations among Ghana’s Top 10 Technical Schools (2024–2025).
